Cheryl McClendon of Bluegrove has submitted the first entries in this year’s Clay County Outdoors Magazine photo contest.
McClendon’s photos were taken during Pioneer Day at Midway ISD, and features students taking part in the school’s version of Pioneer Reunion.
This year’s contest theme is “Authentically Clay.” The contest is sponsored by Henrietta and Clay County Chamber of Commerce and Clay County Pioneer Sentinel.
Deadline for submissions in the third annual Clay County Outdoors magazine photo contest is Oct. 31. Readers of The Pioneer Sentinel will be asked to chose their favorite photos beginning Nov. 1 through Nov. 7.
The contest again will be divided into adult (17 and older) and youth (16 and younger) divisions.
Clay County Outdoors asks that all photos be in vertical format, to fit pages. Digital photos must be submitted as high-resolution originals in no smaller than 775-by-1,000 pixels, and as a .jpeg file. Photos from almost all digital cameras will meet the requirement, but cell phone cameras most likely will not.
To enter, e-mail digital photos to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include the name of the photographer, title of the photo and location where the photo was taken.
For photographers who shoot film, submit an 8-by-10 inch prints by mail to The Pioneer Sentinel, P.O. Box 70, Henrietta, Texas 76365.
