Jefferson County jail escapee captured Saturday



Joshua Nelson, 26-year-old man who escaped from the Jefferson County, Okla., jail this week, has been captured near Purcell, Okla.

The Clay County Sheriff’s issued an advisory concerning the escape Friday afternoon. Law enforcement officials did not know Nelson’s direction of travel, and recognized the possibility that he could have crossed the Red River into Clay County.

Purcell escaped from jail sometime between the hours of 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 and 5:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4. He was located and returned to custody on Saturday.
