Wilma Gene Pollard of Petrolia


Wilma Gene Pollard, 84, of Petrolia, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, in Henrietta.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Riverside Cemetery in Byers. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Pollard was born Nov. 23, 1928 to William Lee and Connie Girdner (Major) Kennedy. She grew up in the oil field, living in lease houses until her marriage at the age of 15 to Leland V. Pollard on July 31, 1944. Mr. Pollard was 17. She was a cook, a seamstress and housewife. She taught Sunday school for several years at the First Baptist Church of Petrolia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leland V. Pollard, on Oct. 8, 2012.

Survivors include two children, Tracy Sterling Pollard and Nancy Louise Dickerson; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
