Gonzenbach has fastest turtle; Durham frog leaps 82 inches

A frog jumping contest and terrapin races were held Friday on the courthouse square during the 82nd Clay County Pioneer Reunion and Rodeo festivities.

Winners are as follows:


Terrapin race — First place, Graham Gonzenbach; second place, Brynna Johnson; third place, Laney Johnson.

Best dressed terrapin — Mason Trent, whose turtle featured pictures of Woody and Buzz from the movie Toy Story.

Biggest and smallest — Biggest terrapin, Cooper Coleman, 5.25 inches; smallest terrapin, Cruse Cruse Coleman, 2 inches.


Frog jumping — First place, Ella Durham, 82 inches; second, Taylor Berry, 61 inches; third, Raley Bounds, 60 inches.

Biggest and smallest — Biggest frog, Rope Collins, 16 inches; smallest frog, Clayton Coker, 4.75 inches.
