Students at Henrietta Elementary School celebrated the 82nd Pioneer Reunion and Rodeo Wednesday with Pioneer Day.
Students took a hayride, roped dummy calves, watched team roping and play day demonstrations, decorated bandanas, learned about barrel racing, hat making and toured the high school’s ag facilities. Students listened to presentations from western bronze sculptor Jack Stevens and world champion bulldogger Mickey Gee, among others.
HES Pioneer Day is held each year on the Wednesday preceding Pioneer Reunion.
Clay County schools will be closed Friday for Pioneer Reunion.
