JV Bearcats dominate Bowie; special teams cap scoring effort

The JV Bearcats defeated Bowie by a score of 34-10 to move to 2-1 on the season.

After the opening kickoff pinned them deep, the Bearcats scored on the first play from scrimmage with an 85-yard pass from Blaine Long to Ben McCreary.

The next score came on a one-yard run by Mason Hanson.  The touchdown was set up by 19-yard Kandon Bennett reception.  Landon Davis caught a pass from Long for the conversion.

The last score of the half came on a 35-yard run by Reed Latham.

No offense was needed in the second half, as the special teams units scored twice in the third quarter to cap the scoring.

Following a Bowie touchdown to open the  second half, Mason Hanson returned the kickoff 81-yards for a touchdown.  Latham ran in the conversion.

The final score of the night came when Long picked up a punt blocked by Austen Broussard and ran it in for the touchdown.

The offensive line had a strong effort.  Defensively, Shane Basham was a monster, with several sacks and tackles for losses.  Stearling Headrick and Ethan Williams had big fumble recoveries on special teams.
