One of three Parade Partners floats constructed for the 82nd Pioneer Reunion and Rodeo is moved into storage last week. This year’s Parade Partners float sponsors are The First National Bank of Byers, Waurika Livestock and the Holman family.

The deadline to enter a float in the Clay County Pioneer Reunion float parade is noon Sept. 13. The Pioneer Reunion Parade Theme is “Let’s Sing Along with Children’s Songs.” To register a float entry call Sherri Halsell at (940) 538-5042 or email swhalsell@ag.tamu.edu.

Float Themes

Possible titles include Alouette, Alphabet Song, Baa Baa Black Sheep, BINGO Bingo was His Name, Brahm’s Lullaby, Farmer in the Dell, Frosty the Snowman, Here Comes Santa Claus, He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands,  Hey Diddle Diddle,  Humpty Dumpty, I’m a Little Teapot, If You’re Happy and You Know It, It’s a Small World, Jesus Loves Me, Little Bo Peep, London Bridge, Patty Cake Patty Cake, Peter Cottontail, Pocahontas,  Ring Around the Rosie, Row Row Your Boat, Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer, She’ll be Coming Around the Mountain, Three Blind Mice, The Good Ship Lollypop, Turkey in the Straw, You Are My Sunshine, Zippity Do Dah.

Titles already taken include Frosty the Snowman, Home on the Range, Wheels on the Bus, How Much is that Doggie in the Window, Itsy Bitsy Spider, My Little Playmate, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Old MacDonald, Ten Little Indians, You’ve Got a Friend in Me, The Muffin Man, Jesus Loves the Little Children, Pop Goes the Weasel, Rock-a-Bye Baby, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, My Candy Tree, Texas Our Texas and Bringing Home My Baby Bumblebee, Mickey Mouse March and All Star.

Organizations and Clubs

Organizations, peewee teams, cheerleaders and clubs that want to ride through the parade as a non-judged entry must also call and enter.  Any information regarding the organization such as who is riding and interesting facts about the group will need to be on the entry form.  This can be done by phone or email.

Kiddie Parade

The Henrietta Kiwanis Club will again host a Kiddie Parade during the Friday and Saturday float parades for ages 12 years old and younger. The Kiddie Parade has three divisions: Pedestrian, non-motorized vehicles and electric powered vehicles.  All participants must sign in by 9:15 a.m., Friday, Sept. 20 on the north side of the Clay County Courthouse in front of the Clay County Leader building.  For rules and information contact Will Landis at (940) 782-9488.

Classic Cars

Classic Car Entries will lineup at the First National Bank of Byers – Henrietta Branch parking lot, located at 202 W. Wichita St.  For more information call Mark Echols at (940) 781-0635.
