James Irvin Ransom of Wichita Falls


James Irvin Ransom, 74, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 6 at The First Baptist Church of Dean with Rev. Shawn Bitner, pastor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Ransom was born July 22, 1939 in Chambersburg, Pa. to George M. and Lucinda (Burke) Ransom. He married Linda (Goehring) in November 1983 in Wichita Falls. Mr. Ransom graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1958 where he excelled in athletics. He was retired from PPG and Wichita Glass and Mirror. Mr. Ransom was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dean.

He is preceded in death by one son Rodney Mosten; one sister Bee Ann Ransom.

Survivors include his wife Linda Ransom of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Jaime Ransom of Denton, and Jessica Ransom of Mansfield; four sons, Anthony Mosten of Harrisburg, Pa., Aaron Ransom of Chambersburg, Pa., Dennis Ransom of Harrisburg, Pa., and James Mosten of Hagerstown, Md.; one sister, Beverly Ransom VanBrakle of Carlisle, Pa.; and numerous grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Dean at 7131 St. Hwy 79 North, Wichita Falls, Texas 76305; or Hospice of Wichita Falls at P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m.
