Law enforcement searching for missing Houston woman, children

Law enforcement officials are searching for a vehicle in southwestern Clay County that is related to an Amber Alert issued in the Houston area earlier today.

At about 9:45 p.m., DPS Troopers and Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies and the FBI are focusing on an area between Bluegrove and Joy. They are searching for a white 2010 Volkswagen Routan SUV with a Nevada license plate 492-YKA.

The Texas Center for the Missing issued an Amber Alert in the Houston region for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

At 2:30 p.m. Vickierae Lopez, 26, picked up her three children from her mother’s home in northeast Harris County to return to Las Vegas, Nev.

Lopez has been separated from her husband, who is stationed in Las Vegas, for about 1 month.  After leaving the Houston area, Lopez sent text messages to her mother saying she was thinking of committing suicide with the children and possibly going to drive off a bridge, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

  • Korbin Peralez, 1, male, white with black hair and brown eyes, 2 feet tall, 40 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red one-piece jumpsuit.

Vickierae Lopez is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5-2 and 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a maroon tank top and blue jeans.
