Jan Parker Fussell of Dallas


Jan Parker Fussell, 58, of Dallas, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in Dallas.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10 in the Bluegrove Cemetery with Mr. Joe Williams of Henrietta officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta. Following the service all are invited to celebrate Jan’s life over lunch at the Bluegrove Community Center.

Mrs. Fussell received her degree in music from Midwestern State University. This was followed by her career as music teacher to elementary school children in the Dallas I.S.D. Among many other achievements, Jan was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2005. She also performed as a jazz singer at several venues around Dallas, and wrote both songs and poems honoring the city.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy; and a brother, Steve and wife Kris; two nephews and a niece.

Memorial contributions in Jan’s honor can be made to your local animal shelter.
