Heat Advisory issued by National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for much of North Texas, including Clay County, until 8 p.m. tonight.

Temperatures this afternoon are expected to range from 94 to 110 degrees, with heat indices from 105 to 115 degrees.

Heat related illnesses will be possible if precautions are not taken to reduce exposure to the heat and humidity. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat

Stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water. schedule frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 911.
