Peggy Wines of Henrietta


Peggy Jean Wines, 78, of Henrietta, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 26 at the First Baptist Church of Henrietta with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Wines was born on July 17, 1934 in the Riverland Community of Clay County to Doc and Eliza (Ray) Massie. She married Corky Wines on April 16, 1954 in Henrietta. She was a housewife and served as the 2005 Clay County Pioneer Queen. She served on the Clay County Memorial Hospital Board from July 1994-Aug. 2007, serving as vice-chairman from1997-2001 and 2003-2007. She also served on the Clay County Memorial Foundation Board from 1994-2013 where she was elected chairman from 2002-2009 and vice-chairman from 1997-2002 and 2009-2011.

She is preceded in death by husband Corkey; and one sister, Louella Dunn.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Sue Wines of Lake Arrowhead, Diane Wines of Lake Arrowhead, and Dotty Wines of Henrietta; two sons, David Wines of Lake Arrowhead, and Daryl Wines of Lake Arrowhead; and four grandsons.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday.
