One person is in custody after a pursuit through Clay County during the midday hours on Saturday.
The chase began on Hwy. 287 when a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over between Jolly and Henrietta. The driver headed south, leading Clay County deputies and DPS Troopers through Henrietta, and continued east on Hwy. 82. A deputy shot out one of the vehicle’s tires near Anderson Road east of Henrietta. The chase came to an end near Belcherville in Montague County when the vehicle drove over a spike strip and deputies shot the engine.
The vehicle was described by a witness as a late-model blue Dodge four-door pickup. The vehicle is registered to Lance Duncan of Henrietta, who had left the pickup at a Wichita Falls business Friday night.
The witness described the driver as a black male who was not wearing a shirt and had multiple tattoos.
The Pioneer Sentinel will have more as additional information becomes available.
