Rodney Hollar of Seymour


Rodney Glenn Hollar, 59, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, in Seymour.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 13 at the Portwood Pavilion in Seymour with Benny Archer officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home of Seymour.

Mr. Hollar was born May 21, 1954 in Paducah to Wes and Faye (Keener) Hollar.  He was a graduate of Henrietta High School, and servied in the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Little Rock when it helped to re-open the Suez Canal in the 1970s. While in the Navy, he played on his ship’s softball team, competing all over Europe.  After his discharge from the Navy, he worked for Lynx Transportation and Doug Bloodworth in Orlando, Fla.  He was a welder.

Survivors include his parents, Wes and Faye Hollar of Seymour; two sons, Zac Hollar of Wichita Falls and Allen Ross of Seymour; four brothers, Randy Hollar of San Antonio, Ronald Hollar of Henrietta; Regan Hollar of Seymour, and Rusty Hollar of Seymour; and one granddaughter.
