City of Byers looking for small businesses to lease school property

The City of Byers is in the process of leasing all or part of the Byers School Property for events, storage, office space or light industrial.

The community now uses the facilities for community events such as Bingo, suppers, music shows, and other events.

“We also will be opening a city library soon,” said Mike Kumor, Mayor of Byers. “School reunions will still be held at the school.”

The gym is also open one day each weekend for two to three hours at a cost of $1 per person per hour.

“In order for the City to continue to have and keep the property for the community of Byers we must lease property for small business, light industry, or storage,” said Kumor.

Space available for lease includes everything from a small closet to rooms as large as 2,000 square feet. The city will only include the library, gymnasium and cafeteria to a business or entity that wants to lease the entire property, such as a private school, nursing home or light industrial business.

For more information, call the Byers City Office at (940) 529-6149. The city office is open Monday through Friday

from 8 a.m. until noon.
