Charline Bowman of Wichita Falls


Charline Bowen, 87, of WIchita Falls, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Bowen was born in April 1926 in Rotan to Charles and Selie Summers. She lived in Petrolia for several years. Prior to that she had lived in Fort Worth where she was an active member of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir there and aught Sunday School.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alvan Bowen; a brother, L.R. Summers; and three sisters, Idella Carter, Grace Ellen Moore and Alyne Briggs.

Survivors include four children, James Ray Bowen of Post, Bobby Bowen of Fort Worth, Barbara La Roche of Jefferson City, Mo., and Jan Bryant of Petrolia; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
