William ‘Bill’ Fletcher, Sr., of Wichita Falls


William Robert “Bill” Fletcher, Sr., 84, of Wichita Falls, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lake Creek Cemetery under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Mr. Fletcher was born Aug. 9, 1928 in Deer Creek to Porter Gilroy and Mabel Elizabeth (Bolton) Fletcher. On Nov. 23, 1950, he married Billye Jo Moore. He worked as a mechanic and a truck driver for many years, and later owned and operated Bill Fletcher Pipe ad Supply, and was co-owner of Fletcherville Car Crushing and Metal Recycling.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Dianne Snow; two sisters, Ahlene Oster and Mabel Stout; and a brother, Melvin Fletcher.

Survivors include his wife, Billye Jo Fletcher of Wichita Falls; three children, William Robert Fletcher, Jr., and wife Linda of St. George, Utah, James Alan Fletcher of Wichita Falls, and Sherry Jenkins and husband John of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 20.
