Melton A. DeMoss, Sr., of Wichita Falls


Melton Alvin DeMoss, Sr., 69, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 13 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta with Pastor Michael Strahan of the Cross Road Worship Center in Wichita Falls officiating and David Perkins of Rowlett assisting. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. DeMoss was born on Dec. 12, 1943 in Decatur to Clyde and Nora Mae (Schribe) DeMoss. He married Frances Thomas on Nov. 24, 1995 in Wichita Falls. He worked for the Texas Highway Department for 28 years and was a maintenance technician for five years. He was an associate pastor at the Eagles Nest Ministries.

Survivors include his wife, Frances DeMoss of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Angela Kafer and husband Stacie of Boyd; five sons, Melton “Bud” DeMoss and wife Shannon of Wichita Falls, Joshua DeMoss of Wichita Falls, Eddie Givins and wife Kandice of Thornberry, Ernie Givins and wife Sheri of Iowa Park, Robert Cox and wife Lora of Marysville, Calif.; six brothers, Clifford DeMoss and wife Thelma of Ringgold, Gene DeMoss and wife Lynn of Sunset, Wade DeMoss and wife Juanita of Bowie, Melvin DeMoss and wife Marge of Bowie, Richard DeMoss and wife Phyllis of Wichita Falls, Ray DeMoss and wife Linda of Bowie; four sisters, Bea Pitchman of Saginaw, Joyce Swaggert and husband Bill of Saginaw, Faye Pittman and husband Ed of Bowie, Nelda Hamilton and husband Warren of Ringgold; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home.
