Rev. Joe Bailey Coker, Jr., of Charlie


Rev. Joe Bailey Coker Jr., 75, of Charlie, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Saint Jo with Rev. Ricky Kerr officiating. Burial will be in the Coker Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home of Nocona.

Rev. Coker was born Sept. 7, 1937 in Gainesville to Edith (Reed) and Joe Bailey Coker, Sr.  He married Barbara Jane Norman, and served as a pastor in the Baptist church and for the Assemblies of God.

Survivors include wife, Barbara “Jane” Norman; five children, Darla Stone of Clyde, Joe Coker IIIof Charlie,  John Coker of Charlie, Jill Coker of Wichita Falls, and Irene DeWolf of Bowie; brothers, three brothers, Noble Coker, Weldon Coker and Jack Coker, all of Saint Jo; two sisters, Jeanne Bell of Saint Jo, and Ruth Sobeczek of Bowie; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308; or the Coker Cemetery at the First National Bank of Saint Jo.
