An early morning vehicle fire had Henrietta Volunteer Fire Fighters out of bed early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out at about 3:45 a.m. At the intersection of Spur 510 and the northbound Hwy. 287 access road on the southern edge of Henrietta. Clay County deputies first arrived on scene to find the vehicle, a 1989 Isuzu SUV with New Mexico license plates, fully engulfed. Fire fighters quickly extinguished the flames, but the fire left only a shell.
The driver of the vehicle, whose information was not available, was traveling north on Hwy. 287 when the vehicle began to smoke. He exited onto the access road and began to turn onto Spur 510 when flames broke out.
No injuries were reported.
