Henrietta fire fighters and EMTs extract a Bowie woman from one of two vehicles involved in a wreck Monday on Hwy. 287 south of Henrietta.
A Bowie woman was evacuated by helicopter Monday morning after suffering back injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 287 south of Henrietta.
The accident occurred at 9:09 a.m. Next to the northbound rest area, near New London Road.
Shelia Prince Killen, 60, was traveling north in a 2005 Jeep Wrangler when the vehicle was struck from behind by a 2009 GMC half-ton pickup driven by George William Clay, 57, also of Bowie. Clay’s pickup struck the left rear fender of the Jeep, trapping Killen inside.
Henrietta volunteer fire fighters used the Jaws of Life to free Killen from the vehicle. She was transported to United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls. The driver of the pickup was not injured.
