Cruisin’ for a Cure raises $5,700 for cancer society

Saturday’s ninth annual Cruisin’ for a Cure car show raised $5,700 for the American Cancer Society.

This year’s show was dedicated to Cheryl Klein and Donna Davidson, both of whom passed away after long battles with cancer. The families of both woman have been longtime supporters of Cruisin’ for a Cure. Special awards in honor of Klein and Davidson were given.

“It takes the whole team to make this event happen,” said show organizer Lou Ann Horton. “I hope this years show was a blessing to the survivors and families attending to honor their loved ones today. That’s what it was all about.”

Clay County businesses and individuals support the event through donations of money, labor, door prizes and award sponsorship.
