Scott Ramsey surveys damage to his car after striking the center median barrier Tuesday afternoon.

A Bowie man suffered no injuries after apparently falling asleep and veering off the road while driving on Hwy. 287 in Henrietta Tuesday afternoon.

Scott Rodgers Ramsey, 33, was traveling south in a 1999 Toyota Camry when his vehicle left the roadway and struck the center-median barricade near the Hwy. 148 overpass. Ramsey’s vehicle broke several posts in the cable divider. He steered the car away from the barricade and traveled approximately 200 feet before striking the barricade again. The car became lodged on one of the posts.

The accident happened at about 3 p.m.

Ramsey, a student at Midwestern State University, told emergency workers that he had been up late studying, and was coming home from classes when he fell asleep.
