Second inning streak leads to Bearcat win over Nocona


With a seven-run burst in the second inning, Henrietta claimed a 12-2 win over Nocona on the baseball diamond Tuesday night.

The Bearcats capitalized on eight hits and five Nocona errors for the win, opening with a three run first inning and scoring two more in the sixth. Nocona scored one run in the first inning and one in the fifth. Henrietta committed only one error.

Conner Fletcher, Philip Davis, Ben Fletcher, Aaron Whitehead, Nick Powell, Turner Gibbs and Rody Fenoglio batted in one run each. Parker Kleinert hit a double.

Davis earned the win on the mound with nine strikeouts. Davis tallied 20 first-pitch strikes against 27 batters.

The Bearcats are 9-5-1 for the season. Henrietta hosts Holliday at 6 p.m. Friday.
