Polar Bears put end to Eagle season in regional semifinal


The Frost Polar Bears scored 28 points in the fourth quarter for a 67-50 win over Bellevue Friday night, putting an end to the Eagles’ playoff run in the Region III semifinal.

The Eagles kept Frost close through three quarters. Both teams scored 14 in the opening period, and the Bears pulled ahead by one in the second 15-14. Bellevue entered the fourth quarter down by three after getting topped 10-8 in the third. Bellevue added 14 in the fourth despite three Eagles fouling out.

Broc Terry led the Eagles with 14 points, followed by Matthew Belcher, Brandt Cassetty and Tyler Terry with 11 points each. Bellevue landed 14 of 24 free throw attempts.

Bellevue finishes the 2012-13 season with a 27-8 record and the District 21-A championship.
