Sine Koethe McMurry of Henrietta


Sine Koethe McMurry, 101, of Henrietta, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta with Dan Webb and Jay Poling officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. McMurry was born Aug. 14, 1911 in Henrietta to Walter Arthur and Mayme (McCluer) Koethe. She married Carl D. McMurry on June 3, 1945 in Henrietta. Mrs. McMurry worked at Bears Hardware in Henrietta and was a caregiver to Kirk Edwards and Mrs. W.H. Howard. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta and a 50 year member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. McMurry served on the board of directors for the Senior Citizen Center and was a Pioneer Dutchess in 1988 during the Clay County Pioneer Reunion and Rodeo.

Mrs. McMurry is preceded in death by her her husband, Carl D. McMurry; one son, Jimmy Christian; and two brothers, James McCluer Koethe and John Louis Koethe.

Survivors include two nieces, Judy Koethe Webb and husband Dan of Joy, Texas and Becky Walla of Austin; several great nieces and nephews; and special friend Catherine Padaklandla.
