Resident will miss former employee

By Ashley Crownover

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Ruth “Imogene” Lyde Hickman. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. She worked for Henrietta Care Center for many years. During that time she took pride in her job. She was very compassionate and caring. She loved her work and loved her family. We are so lucky to have known her, and we are truly blessed by her being both an employee then a resident at HCC. She became a friend to all. God blessed her by taking her home. Rest in peace our dear friend.

Thank you to John Webb for donating books to the facility. The residents were excited to get new material. We are very grateful for your thoughtfulness.

As always, thank you to the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary Post 5401 for giving sweat suits to each of the veterans in our facility. Herrell Edwards, Robert Bell, Lowell Lynn, Bob Maddox, Doug Massie and Lindle Hodges received sweat suits, and they are very thankful and appreciative.

Henrietta Floral donated corsages for our resident birthday party, and VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary Post 5401 hosted the party as usual. We are very blessed to have their involvement in our facility. Everyone loves the homemade desserts that you provide and the time you dedicate to HCC. Thank you to Henrietta Floral and VFW Ladies for all that you do for us each month. Your thoughtfulness is overwhelming.

Last but not least, we would like to thank Alice McEntee for donating donuts each week. The residents really enjoy this treat.

We have frequent daily visitors that come out and socialize with the residents. We always appreciate the people that make it a weekly routine to stop by HCC; your visits mean so much to everyone. Visitors are always welcome and encouraged to stop by to brighten our day and add spice to lives.

January is coming to an end, and we are looking forward to a wonderful February. Our calendar will be posted on Facebook very soon. Here are some important events to look for during the month of February. A Valentine themed potluck meal of spaghetti, salad, bread, and dessert will take place on the Feb. 8.  We will have a “Wear Hearts Day” and a “Wear Beads Day”, a Mardi Gras party, a Valentine’s Day party, and our resident birthday party. Be sure to look at our calendar for these important dates and times!

Have a wonderful week!
