Bellevue’s Lady Eagles — ranked 19th by the TABC — simply got better with each quarter of play Friday night, taking a 43-point win over Slidell.
The Lady Eagles came away with a 73-30 win by topping their previous mark in in the second, third and fourth periods, while holding the Lady Greyhounds to single digits in the first second and third.
Bellevue opened with a 14-6 lead in the first quarter, and followed with a 17-1 performance in the second. The Lady Eagles hit 20 points in the third, while Slidell scored nine. The best quarter for both teams came in the fourth, when Bellevue outscored Slidell 22-14.
Emily Barnett scored 15 points to lead the Lady Eagles, followed by Bailey terry with 13. Bailey Schroeder scored 11 points, including three three-pointers, followed by Kimberley Morrow with 10. Cassidy York with eight points, including two threes. Destiny Watkins and Victoria Woods added six points each. Hannah McWilliams and Amber Bush added two points each.
The Lady Eagles scored nine on 14 free throw attempts.
With the win, the Lady Eagles remain undefeated in district play.
