Bearcats move to 2-0 in 8-2A with 50-43 win over ‘Rabbits

Henrietta dominated Bowie in the fourth quarter Tuesday night to secure 50-43 win over the Jackrabbits, and remain undefeated in District 8-2A boys play.

The Jackrabbits took an early lead over the Bearcats with a 12-10 lead in the first quarter, but Henrietta came back with a 14-point second quarter to tie the game 24-all at halftime. Bowie again took the lead with a 9-8 third. Henrietta took over in the fourth, outscoring Bowie 18-10.

Nick Powell led the Bearcats with 23 points, nine rebounds and two seals, followed by Ben Fletcher with 11 points and seven rebounds. Dalton Davidson scored eight and had three assists. Chad Burns and Matthew Reed added four points each. Burns had five rebounds and Reed had two assists.

The Bearcats tried to light up the board on three-pointers, but struggled from outside the arc, landing only four of 17. The Bearcats hit 12 of 20 free throws.
