Breaking the 20-point mark in three of four quarters, Henrietta’s varsity boys earned an 84-46 win over City View in Friday’s District 8-2A opener.
With a high scoring came high scoring individuals. Nick Powell finished with a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. Cole Burns was not far behind, posting 26 points and nine rebounds. Dalton Davidson landed 17 points. Burns and Davidson had three steals each, while Davidson had four assists. Matthew Reed had six points and seven rebounds. Ben Fletcher scored four points with three assists and three rebounds, while Conner Fletcher scored three points and gave up three assists.
The Bearcats shot 87.5 percent from the free throw line, landing seven of eight attempts.
Henrietta (17-3) dominated the Mustangs in the first quarter, posting 25 points to City View’s eight. The Bearcats continued on their roll, outscoring the Mustangs 21-18 in the second and 21-13 in the third quarters. The Bearcats posted 17 to City View’s seven in the fourth.
