Dorothy Glandon, 80, of Petrolia, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 in Wichita Falls.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at the First United Methodist Church of Petrolia with Rev. Al Easterling officiating. Burial was in the Petrolia Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.
Mrs. Glandon was born on Feb. 11, 1932 in Drum Wright, Okla., to Harry and Lorene (Greer) Elam. She married Ralph Eugene Elam on June 15, 1968 in Wilson, Okla. She was the Director of the Petrolia Senior Citizens and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Petrolia, where she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. Mrs. Glandon was very active in her church as well as her community. From 1981 to 1994 she was the Outstanding Female Citizen, awarded by the Clay County Chamber of Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Glandon; and two sons, Bobby Forbes and Mike Glandon.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Glandon and wife Nancy of Richardson, and James Forbess and wife Ulanda of Sanger; two daughters, Karen Poirot and husband Tom of Wichita Falls, and Linda Wolf of Wichita Falls; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
