Bellevue improved to a 5-0 record in District 21-A girls basketball with Tuesday night’s 52-33 win over Midway.
Hefty defensive play in the first and fourth quarters was key for the Lady Eagles, ranked No. 22 in state. Bellevue outscored Midway 14-2 in the first and 14-4 in the fourth quarter. Midway topped Bellevue 14-12 in the second and 13-12 in the fourth.
Bailey Terry led Bellevue’s offensive effort with 17 points, followed by Amber Bush with 12, Destiny Watkins with seven, Kimberley Morrow with six and Emily Barnett with four. Bailey Schroeder and Cassidy York scored three points each.
The Lady Eagles shot 14-of-20 from the free throw line.
Cassidy Mass led all scorers with 19 points in the Lady Falcon effort. Farina Budino scored eight, followed by Kelli Forester with four and Breanna Merkel with two points.
With the win, Bellevue has a 18-5 season record. Midway fell to 12-11 for the season and 2-3 in district play.
Bellevue’s varsity boys earned a 57-47 win over Midway. Stats were not available.
