With a 33-point third quarter from the Falcons, Midway earned a 67-38 win over Saint Jo Friday. With the win, the Falcons improved to 2-0 in District 21-A.
Brody Wilson scored 25 points, including four buckets from outside the three-point arc, to lead the Falcons. Logan Harper scored nine points, followed by Josh Fulbright and Mark Nall with eight points each, Ryan Terry with six, Ben Forester and Brent Jones with four points each, and Tristan Franke with three points. The Falcons scored 11 of 13 free throws.
Saint Jo took an early lead to top the Falcons 12-11 in the first quarter, but Midway came alive in the second for a 30-21 lead at intermission. Saint Jo scored nine in the third, and outscored Midway 8-4 in the fourth period.
The Falcons have a season record of 13-6.
Midway Lady Falcons
Midway’s Lady Falcons took a 52-40 loss to Saint Jo, falling to 2-2 in district.
Saint Jo outscored the Lady Falcons 8-4 in the first. Midway closed the gap with a 14-13 second quarter, but fell further behind after the half with a 14-13 third quarter. Saint Jo again outscore Midway in the fourth, 15-14.
Cassidy Mass led the Lady Falcons with 21 points, followed by Kelly Forester with 10 and Breanna Merkel with nine. Forest hit three buckets from the three-point line, while Merkel landed one. The Lady Falcons scored 19 of 26 free throw attempts.
