Dean Westmoreland of Wichita Falls


Dean Westmoreland, 90, of Wichita Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Westside Baptist Church of Wichita Falls with Rev. Tommy Free officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Byers, under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Mr. Westmoreland was born July 15, 1922 in Globe, Texas, to Franklin C. and Susan Frances (Pettit) Westmoreland. On Dec. 4, 1943, he and Juanita Smith were married. He served in the U.S. Army in France and Germany during World War II. He worked as a core maker for Wichita Falls Foundry.

Survivors include wife Juanita Westmoreland of Wichita Falls; two sons, Gary Westmoreland and wife Kathy of Byers, and Keith Westmoreland of Austin; a daughter, Marilyn Phillips of Weatherford; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the funeral home.
