Opal Seigler of Henrietta


Mary Opal Seigler, 102, of Henrietta, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at Pathstone Living Center in Mankato, Minn., where she lived the past 10 years.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta with Rev. Chris Dowd, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Seigler was born on May 10, 1910 in Deer Creek to I.V. “Tine” and Rosa Laughon. She was a graduate of Bellevue High School. She married Claude Revis Seigler on Sept. 21, 1929 in the Halsell community. They were married 57 years at the time of his death in 1986. In 2003 Opal moved to Mankato, Minn., to be near her son, Claude Irby Seigler. She lived at Pathstone Living in assisted living until moving to the skilled nursing area of Pathstone last month.

She is preceded in death by husband Claude Revis Seigler; two sons, Tommy Joe Seigler in 1936 and Rexy Leon Seigler in 2002; five sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include a son, Claude Irby Seigler and wife Anita Marie of North Mankato, Minn.; one brother, Ray Laughon and wife Dortha of Winters; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
