Plea agreements accepted


The 97th District Court accepted plea agreements Monday, Dec. 17 from six defendants.

Don Dewayne Gay — Judgment adjudicating guilt for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, more than 4 grams, less than 200 grams, a second degree felony, for a March 10, 2007 offense. Gay received an additional five years community supervision and fined $1,960.

William Tyson Sams — Theft of property, more than $5,000, less than $20,000, a state jail felony, for an Aug. 20 offense. Sams was sentenced to 12 months confinement. He was credited 112 days.

Gary Wayne Price — Community supervision revoked, driving while intoxicated, third offense, a third-degree felony, for a July 4, 2006 offense. Price was sentenced to two years confinement and fined $2,000. He was credited with 240 days served.

George Michael McGowan — Deadly conduct, discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony, for a March 17 offense. McGowan received three years probation and fined $1,500.

Pamela Kay Hassell — Stalking, a third-degree felony, for an Oct. 19 offense. Hassell received five years probation and fined $1,500.

Claude Kenneth Danforth — Community supervision revoked for driving while intoxicated, third offense, a third-degree felony, for a Nov. 12, 2009 offense. Danforth was sentenced to three years in prison and fined $900.
