Lawrence to display woodwork at retired school personnel meeting


Clay County Association of Retired School Personnel, an affiliate of Texas Retired Teachers Association, will meet Monday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. at Henrietta City Hall.  Bob Lawerence will present a program on wood art and display some of his creations.

Members are to bring a Christmas snack and enjoy a refreshment and fellowship time.   Discussion of the upcoming Texas Legislative Session will be a topic of conversation as retired school employees have not had a raise in more than 10 years.   Pat Lawrence is the program contact.

Pan McKay and Doris Payne are in the process of securing books to TRTA project is a scholarship for a county senior planning on going in the present to all county Head Start students after the first of the year.

A nice group of TRTA members met at Henrietta Care Center for their November meeting.  Debbie Brewer discussed the HCC facility and its services, and gave an overview of laws and regulations for all state nursing homes.

Murry Don Dawson of Byers is the TRTA President this year.   He says that visitors and prospective TRTA members are always welcome on 3rd Monday, 2 p.m. meetings.   Watch your news media for other upcoming meetings.
