Henrietta’s varsity boys traveled three hours east to face the top ranked Class A Div. II team in state Friday night. The Bearcats fell to Roxton 81-62.
Henrietta hung with Roxton in the first quarter, falling behind by two, 24-22. The Lions came out in the second quarter with a 27-point effort, and limited Henrietta to 12 points. The Bearcats outscored Roxton 17-16 in the third, but fell back in the fourth as the Lions posted 14 to Henrietta’s 11.
Cole Burns and Nick Powell scored 16 points each to lead the Bearcats, followed by Dalton Davidson with 13, Ben Fletcher with six and Matthew Reed with four. Conner Fletcher added three points. Myles Marchman and Philip Davis scored two points each.
Burns and Powell also led in rebounds. Powell came away with nine and Burns had eight. Powell also had four assists, two steals and two blocks.
