Bellevue girls to play for third in Poolville tournament


Bellevue’s varsity Lady Eagles will play for third place in the Poolville Tournament Saturday after falling to Holliday in Friday’s semifinal. The game for third place is set for 11:30 a.m.

Holliday defeated Bellevue 42-40.

Emily Barnett led the Lady Eagles with 16 points, including a pair of threes, followed by Amber Bush and Bailey Schroeder with eight each. Destiny Watkins scored six points and Bailey Terry added four.

The team hit 11 of 14 free throws.

Barnett also led in rebounds with eight, followed by Bush with six.

The Lady Eagles opened the tournament Thursday with a 45-37 win over Windthorst, and advanced to the quarterfinal by defeating Jacksboro 43-32 on Friday morning.

Barnett scored 17 against Windthorst, followed by Terry with 10 and Schroeder with nine. Watkins scored three, while Bush and Cassidy York added two points each.

Terry led in rebounds with 12, while Watkins and Bush came away with six each.

Schroeder led the Lady Eagles against Jacksboro with 15 points, followed by York with nine and Terry with seven.  Watkins scored six, Bush added four and Barnett scored two.

Terry also led in rebounds with 8, while Bush came away with seven.
