McDonnell’s ‘Morning Rush Hour’ to be featured on magazine cover

“Morning Rush Hour: Clay County” by Jan McDonnell

The work of local photographer Jan Greer McDonnell will be featured on the cover of the 2013 Clay County Outdoors magazine.

McDonnell’s photo, entitled “Morning Rush Hour: Clay County,” was one of 46 photos submitted in the adult category of the Clay County Outdoors photo contest, sponsored by the magazine and The Clay County Pioneer Sentinel.

Readers of The Pioneer Sentinel chose the photo winner of the adult category.

“Rusty Grazin’,” submitted by Megan Morrow, 13, of Perkins, Okla., won the youth division with 65 votes. The photograph was taken at the Morrow home near Bellevue.

The editorial staff of Clay County outdoors magazine chose the cover photo. Morrow’s photo will be featured inside the magazine.

Some 724 readers of the Clay County Pioneer Sentinel cast 1,380 votes in the Clay County Outdoors photography contests combined.

Readers submitted photos representing Clay County through the month of October. Voting took place Nov. 1-14. Winners will be featured in the 2013 edition of Clay County Outdoors magazine, a Henrietta and Clay County Chamber of Commerce publication.

Shutter bugs entered 46 photos in the adult category, and eight entries in the youth category.
