Annelise Sauer earns nod on all-state volleyball roster

Annelise Sauer gets a dig during Henrietta’s Sept. 29 match against Holliday. The Senior Lady Cats has been named to the TGCA all-state volleyball team.

With her final season as a Lady Cat behind her, Henrietta senior Annelise Sauer has been selected a member of the 2A All-State Volleyball Team by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Sauer played libero at the varsity level all four years of her high school career, earning district MVP in the position for three years. Sauer was named to the Nocona Buckle Up for Lane’s Sake all-tournament team in 2012.

Sauer finished her senior season with 605 digs, 28 service aces, 96 percent serving and 83 percent passing.

Other athletes from District 8-2A earning all-state nods are Sarah Garfield and Morgan Lewis of Holliday, and Allie Hacklye and C.J. Hamilton of Nocona.

Sauer is joined by teammates Cheyenne Barry and Taylor Burch on the academic all-state team. To earn academic all-state, athletes must keep a grade average of 94 or above.
