Counting the days to Christmas

By Ashley Crownover

Thanksgiving week has passed, but the holiday season is still here. Now we are counting down the days until Christmas. On behalf of everyone at Henrietta Care Center, we hope you all had a very safe and happy Thanksgiving. We enjoyed all our friends and family members that stopped by for our Thanksgiving potluck lunch on Friday, Nov. 16. This time of the year gets very stressful, and we know how busy everyone can be. That being said, we truly appreciate the time you set aside to spend with us at HCC.

Our resident birthday party is this Friday the 30th at 3 p.m. We will be honoring Willie Carmichael, Inez Holman, and Wilma Gene Pollard. The Women’s VFW Auxiliary Post 5401 will host the party. Family and friends are encouraged to come by and celebrate with our residents and staff. We all would love to be graced with your presence.

We will have a Christmas party for our residents on Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance! If anyone would like to donate a Christmas gift, please do so prior to the party. Please contact Vickie Whitehead at (940) 538-4303 if you have any questions, comment or concerns. Also, if you plan to come by and have a Christmas program such as sing Christmas carols, please call and let Vickie know ahead of time. This way, the residents will be awake and ready when the time for your program arrives. If you decide to come by and have a program at the last minute; that is okay, too.

We want the best for our residents, and we want HCC to be a place residents can truly call home. In order to make this happen, we depend greatly on the families and friends of our residents and on our community to be an active part of our daily lives. We appreciate each and every one of you that has stopped by to visit, volunteered, donated, and/or shared a meal with a resident. You have helped make our facility a wonderful place to live.

Last but not least, thank you to Mr. Sheppard for the box of apples from Sutherlands. We greatly appreciate them. We are blessed to have you in our lives.

Thank you so much to our community for your continued support, loyalty, and dedication. Have a wonderful week!
