Henrietta FFA member Miranda Flores took second place in the second annual Area IV Spanish Creed Speaking Invitational Leadership Development Event.
Written by Erwin Milton Tiffany, the FFA Creed conveys the ideas and beliefs of the national FFA organization that goes beyond geography, language, race or ethnicity.
The Spanish Creed Invitational Speaking event was proposed by the 2009-2010 State Officer Team and approved by the Texas FFA Board of Directors in January 2010.
During competition Miranda orally presented the FFA Creed from memory and answered questions about its meaning and purpose. Miranda has also qualified to participate in the State Spanish Creed Speaking Event, which will be held in association with the 85th annual Texas FFA Convention in Dallas July 8-11, 2013.
This event, along with many other FFA competitions, are ways the FFA organization provide opportunities for its members to boost self-confidence, earn recognition and develop professional communication skills.
