Henrietta FFA Senior Skills team to compete at state level


Rerpesenting Henrietta FFA in the state Senior Skills competition are Connor Kirby, Annelise Sauer, Ethan Cantrell and Cheyenne Barry.

Henrietta FFA’s Senior FFA Skills Demonstration team qualified for state competition by finishing second in the Area IV FFA leadership competitions Saturday, Nov. 17 at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.  Team members are Cheyenne Barry, Ethan Cantrell, Connor Kirby and Annelise Sauer.

Skills demonstration is an FFA Leadership Development Event requiring a group of three to five members to perform and demonstrate an agricultural related skill using effective public speaking and communication methods.  This year, Henrietta’s demonstration involved the techniques used to installing automatic electrical lighting in an existing lighting circuit.

FFA Skills Demonstration is just one of the many, competitive events members have the opportunity to participate in.  FFA events focus on creating “Real Life” conditions for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision-making, communication and knowledge taught in agricultural science classroom.

The state FFA LDE competition will be held Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Sam Houston State University has partnered with Texas FFA in hosting these competitions for more than 70 years.
