Bellevue teams defeat Chico; homecoming royalty crowned

Tyler Terry and Bailey Terry were named homecoming king and queen of Bellevue High School in a ceremony following Tuesday night’s basketball games.

Tyler is a senior, and the son of Jimmy and Twyla Terry. Bailey is a senior, and the daughter of Jason Terry and Jill Kennedy.

Candidates for basketball king included Broc Terry and Brandt Cassetty. Candidates for queen included Bailey Schroeder and Kimberley Morrow.

Bellevue faced Chico for homecoming.

The varsity Lady Eagles earned an 80-27 win over Chico to improve to 4-0 this season.

Emily Barnett scored 23 points to lead Bellevue, followed by a 16-point performance from Schroeder, 15 from Cassidy York, 14 from Bailey Terry, eight from Kimberley Morrow and four from Destiny Watkins. Barnett and York finished with three three-pointers each.

Bellevue outscored Chico 22-4 in the first quarter and 26-5 in the second. The Lady Eagles continued to dominate in the second half with a 16-4 third and a 16-15 third quarter.

The JV Lady Eagles defeated Chico 54-5.

Bellevue’s varsity boys came away with a 64-63 win. Tyler Terry had 29 points in the game. The JV boys won 51-41.
