Pleas accepted in district court


The 97th District Court accepted plea agreements Monday, Nov. 19 from six defendants for various crimes.

Michael Edward Brothers, 40 — Aggravated assault against a public servant, a first-degree felony, for an Aug. 19 offense. Brothers was sentenced to five years community supervision.

Shawn David Whaley, 36 — Evading arrest or detention with vehicle, a third-degree felony, for a March 23 offense. Whaley received three years community supervision.

Larry Gene Hawkins, 56 — Possession and transportation of chemical with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, penal group 1, a second-degree felony, for a Jan. 20 offense. Hawkins was sentenced to two years in prison, and credited with 113 days served.

Jonathan Eric Holman, 30 — Burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony, for a June 25 offense. Holman was sentenced to 10 years community supervision. He was credited with eight days served.

Nicole Rae Hiebert, 26 — Burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony, for an April 25 offense. Hiebert was sentenced to 10 years probation. She was credited 104 days served.

Joe Dale Duffy, 67 — Prohibited weapon, a third-degree offense, for an Aug. 6 offense. Duffy was sentenced to four years in prison, and credited 105 days.
