Omeda Fay ‘Sunny’ Roberson of Wichita Falls


Omeda Fay “Sunny” Roberson, 86, of Wichita Falls, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Merwin Turner, and Rev. Charlie Pierce, officiating. Burial will follow at Petrolia Cemetery under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Mrs. Roberson was born Sept. 3, 1926 in Petrolia to Oscar Lee and Mamie Blanche (Bell) Weatherall. She was a graduate of Petrolia High School and Midwestern State University. She was a retired substitute teacher for Wichita Falls ISD. She was an active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities, including the United Methodist Women and the Busy Bees Quilting Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Refford H. “Robbie” Roberson on Sept. 10; and two brothers, Bob Weatherall and J.R. Weatherall.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Roberson of Wichita Falls; a son, Eddie Roberson and wife Becky of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Mary Lee Maxey of Wichita Falls, and Billie Willis and husband Marvin of Electra; two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home.
