Betty Shoemaker of Dean


Betty Shoemaker, 71, of Dean, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 15 at the First Baptist Church of Dean, with Brandon Dunn, pastor of the Western Heritage Christian Church in Charlie, officiating. Burial will be in the Bellevue Cemetery, under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Shoemaker was born on June 14, 1941 in Bowie to J.L. and Edna (Dowis) Sullivan. She married Donald Shoemaker on February 3, 1961 in Bowie. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dean, Texas.

Mrs. Shoemaker is preceded in death by her husband Donald on August 31, 1995; two brothers, Jerry and Jamie Sullivan; two brother-in-laws, Troy Ronald Shoemaker and Kenneth Wayne Shoemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Shoemaker and wife Marsha of Dean, and Paul Shoemaker and wife Phyllis of Dean; three sisters, Barbara Sherman and husband C.D. of Childress, Irene Henry and husband Keith of Dean, and Beverly Cripps and husband Steven of Oxnard, Calif.; one brother, Junior Sullivan and wife Carmen of Childress; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.14.
