JV Bearcats rebound from 10-point deficit to earn win


Henrietta’s JV Bearcats fell behind Alvord 10-0 Thursday night before scoring 32 straight points on their way to a 38-23 win, their eighth victory of the season.

Following a Skyler Velasquez interception, the Bearcats scored their first points on a 6-yard Cody Fletcher run.  Riley Watson ran in the two-point conversion.

After Dylan Galyean recovered an onside kick, the Bearcats scored again on a 16-yard pass from Watson to Jaylon Curtis. Watson again added the conversion run.

Fletcher scored again on the first possession of the third quarter on a 9-yard run. Watson completed a pass to Austin Trent for the two-point conversion.

Nick Offield hauled in a 3-yard pass from Watson for the next score. Offield had three catches for 104 yards in the game.  Velasquez caught a pass from Watson for the conversion.

Jeremiah Johnson hauled in a 4-yard pass for the final score of the night for the Bearcats.

The team’s record stands at 8-1 for the season.
