Henrietta Care Center residents will hand out candy to children on Halloween from 6-7:30 p.m. Stop by and trick or treat, if you dare.

Edith Freeman and Vinnie Sheppard both donated candy for Halloween. Thank you very much. We appreciate you greatly.

Our Thanksgiving meal for residents and family members is Friday, Nov. 16 at noon; please mark your calendars.

We had a bake sale on Friday to raise money for our Operation Christmas Child project. Our bake sale was successful, raising enough money to send 54 boxes to children in need. Terry Holder, Herbert Holder, and John Sheppard missed the bake sale, but they still donated money to HCC for the Operation Christmas Child project. We are filling and wrapping the shoeboxes on Thursday, Nov. 1. If you wish to help wrap boxes, please stop by at 2 p.m. and look for Vickie. If you would like to help us, please stop by and look for Vickie. We are very grateful for the community’s participation in this project.

We had a drawing for a TV at Henrietta Care Center. Mr. Sheppard won the TV! Congratulations to you.

Leland Pollard is greatly missed at Henrietta Care Center. We thank his family for allowing us to care for him. We are praying that God will continue to give you all comfort during this heartbreaking time in your lives.

Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the family and friends of Bob Bunting. We are so sorry for your loss. Bob will be missed by all.

Mrs. Wuensche and friends had a picnic in the living area for her birthday, and then they played cards all day long. They all seemed to have a wonderful time. You are welcome to come by to visit residents, and we have space that you can sit together to chat and play games or do whatever you wish.

As always, we are very appreciative of our volunteers. Thank you to Margie Battle and Ruth Lemond for your weekly piano service and sing along.

Mr. Massie’s family brought pecan pie fudge, Vera King’s family brought a really scrumptious cake, and Bill Davis brought Dr. Peppers for our employees to enjoy in reward of all their hard work.

Bill Davis donated money to our resident Christmas fund. Thank you, Bill!

Billie Jones and family went to Bill’s Catfish to celebrate her birthday. We know you all had a great time! The residents really love outings with and visits from their families and friends.

1st Baptist and 1st Christian churches together with a few volunteers representing the boy scouts had a dessert social for the residents on Saturday the 27th of October. They served the residents sugar-free angel food cake, brownies, cookies, and homemade ice cream. This social was such a great success. We are truly blessed to have your involvement at HCC. This is the second year that both 1st Baptist and 1st Christian churches have collaborated efforts and worked together for our residents. Last year, they hosted a hamburger cook-off and now the dessert social. Both were awesome events that are truly appreciated. God bless everyone who is involved. Thank you very much for devoting your time to us.

Thank you Henrietta and Clay County for all that you do to make Henrietta Care Center an enjoyable place for our residents to call home. Have a wonderful week, and happy Halloween!
